Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare GIVEAWAY

"Tessa Gray should be happy - aren't all brides happy?
Yet as she prepares for her wedding, a net of shadows begins to tighten around the Shadowhunters of the London Institute.
A new demon appears, one linked by blood and secrecy to Mortmain, the man who plans to use his army of pitiless automatons, the Infernal Devices, to destroy the Shadowhunters. Mortmain needs only one last item to complete his plan. He needs Tessa. And Jem and Will, the boys who lay equal claim to Tessa's heart, will do anything to save her."

Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare
Book 3 of The Infernal Devices
568 pages

Tessa Gray had agreed to marry Jem Carstairs, a Shadowhunter that is slowly dying because of his reluctant addiction to yin fen. What's worst is that Tessa is also in love with another, Jem's parabatai--Will Herondale.

As you know, this is the last book in The Infernal Devices series. This is most likely the last time we will ever read about our beloved London Shadowhunters. But, Cassandra has stated that she is working on a series, initialed TLH, about the next generation from our Shadowhunters.

Like all of Cassandra's other books, there is pain, suffering, hopelessness, death, and happiness all at once. Most of her fans have already become accustomed to this, but Clockwork Princess is the most dreaded one yet. This is, in fact, the first series of hers that has officially ended.

Tessa Gray is a strong lead character that many of us have seen ourselves in. Why? Of course it's because of her fondness for books. She quotes, reads, lives and breathes in the words of books. She changes, rapidly, from the somewhat terrified New Yorker to a girl that can definitely hold her own. There's an usual thing about her though... She has the power to Change into another person by just holding onto an object of theirs. "With great power comes great responsibility," said basically every wise character in fiction. Tessa is wanted by Mortmain because her power can destroy the Shadowhunters she's come to know and love.

Mortmain is a mundane that was raised by a warlock couple. They had raised him as their own and he had come to love them as his parents... Until one day, his parents are killed without reason. Resentful of Shadowhunters and seeking revenge, he constructs an army of clockwork creatures to kill all of the Shadowhunters. He has planned everything through and through.. All he needs to complete his plan is Tessa, but the Shadowhunters she's befriended are not willing to go down without a fight.

Will Herondale is witty, humorous, beautiful, and deadly to his enemies. He, like Tessa, lives and breathes the words from the pages of his favorite books. He is like a rose with dozens of thorns to stop you from going near him. Will was cursed so that all he loved and all that loved him would die. As we know from Clockwork Prince, he, with the help of warlock Magnus Bane, discovered that his curse was nothing but a lie from a devious demon. In love and desperate to make things right, he confessed his love to Tessa. It was all to no avail for Jem had proposed to her just moments before and Tessa had told him that she did not return his feelings for her at all. In Clockwork Princess, he is sad but at the same time happy. If he would not get the love of his life, he would do everything to ensure that Jem and Tessa would stay together. He knows that Jem is dying and he will do whatever he can to stop it. When Jem is close to dying and Tessa is still in danger.. Who will he stay with--his love or his parabatai?

Jem Carstairs is dying. He's known for all his life that he would die and leave his parabatai behind. He is determined to live as long as he can with Tessa, even if that time is quickly ticking. Jem is calm and careful unlike his blue-eyed parabatai. He and Will are near inseparable. As Mortmain is getting closer to taking Tessa away from them all, how can he possibly try to save her life when his is draining away?

There will be twists, turns, and every road block imaginable for the Shadowhunters of the London Institute. The Consul is growing ever doubtful if Mortmain is really coming to take Tessa and destroy all of their race. Jem is dying and there is nothing they can do. When it comes time for the final battle, who will side with them?

There will be tears and you will want to throw the book a couple of times or scream out in your sadness, but it will all be worth it. Cassandra ties up all of the loose ends of the series(also managing to answer some questions we had about The Mortal Instruments) and make it all work in a way that is uniquely its own.

Not so surprisingly, the ending is exactly as I wished it to be. As many fans said, the ending is bittersweet. As bittersweet as it is, you will absolutely love it.

Using Cassandra's own words:
Ave Atque Vale Infernal Devices

  1. I LOVE Cassandra Clare (Judith Rumelt) so much for so many reasons. She has encouraged so many young people to be writers which is important. She has managed to create an amazing world where fangirls/boys have met and together created a TMI Fandom! This has brought many people together and people even became good friends. She also has set young peoples standards of girls (Lily Collins, Jemima West) and boys (Jamie Campbell, Kevin Zegers, Robert Sheehan who is from Portlaoise in Ireland which is where I am from by the way!!) The cast is perfect by the way! She also showed that you can do anything if you just try! She started off writing for "tabloids" and "magazines" and "fan fictions" for Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings (I love both of them by the way) and then later wrote The Mortal Instruments! Her fan fiction for Harry Potter was "The Draco Trilogies" which I thought was interesting because we need to see what it was like in his point of view, for example in "The Half Blood Prince! how he felt when he was told that he had to kill Dumbledore, and how he feels about how his father acts, or how he felt when Snape died, and what it's like in the point of view of a "bad guy". She is an inspiring writer, she's influenced me to write fan fiction in the point of view of Valentine which will be put up on the internet when finished. She also spends time on her fans by being on twitter a lot and answering our crazy, interesting questions, and updating us on movie progress and her competitions and blog! I hope (I know) my children will like her books but lets hope her books are read by the next generations just like Harry Potter! May the odds be ever in my favour! Thanking you and hoping I win! 4. I love Cassandra Clare so much, because I love the way she writes and how she can effect so many people around the world with just her words. She can create so many characters, so many stories, and so many feelings, sometimes in just one sentence. She inspires me so much. When I had read her books, they had gotten me through a tough time because of the words she wrote. They taught me so much. They taught me how to love, how to fight for what I believe in, and how to be brave. Most of all it taught me to be who I am. Even though I have never met her, and I want to very much, I feel as though when I'm reading her books that she wrote the stories just for me. She wrote them so I could learn from it. I just love her and she inspires me everyday, in a new way. I would say my favorite rune would be the angelic power rune. First, because it's just so beautiful. Second, because I mean who wouldn't want angel powers, right? I think I should win because I just love her and her books so much I can't even express it, and it would be an honor to win. Thank you so much and I hope I win!

  6. Let me just start out by saying this book ruined my life. I love the whole series, reading about Shadowhunters make me feel at home so naturally I counted down the days to Clockwork Princess. I did. I read it in 6 hours, 3 hours of sleep, and over 100 crying meltdowns. I love everything about the book including the love triangle between Jem, Tessa, and Will. Personally I was always hoping Will would end up with Tessa. I loved how over the three books the love triangle transformed into something beautiful where at the end I was hoping Tessa didn't have to choose. I read this book every night since it's came out and every time it makes me cry. I'm truly and deeply lost without the Infernal Devices and who knows what's going to happen to me when the Mortal Instruments end... I don't think I can handle that.
This book is beautiful and wonderful. I'm glad I found it and I'm so sad it's over.

  7. Cassandra Clare took a new approach when it comes to recreational literature. She developed this world where 3 types of beings--Shadowhunters,Downworlders, and Mundanes. I live and breathe her book series's, plus I've had my share in tears over her books. The Infernal Devices is my favorite due to Jem.. Plus the automatons sounded intriguing, not gonna lie there. Jem isn't a PERFECT teenage boy, but in my opinion, he is the 'perfect' one. His imperfections (upcoming death ( ;) ), addiction, background history...) make him the perfect character to me. Cassandra's ability to envelope her readers in a world where all of us long to be is so enticing, we must read more!
My favorite rune is the Parabatai rune. (Jem and Will <3 need I say more?)
I think I should win a copy of this book because I want to share it. I want to lend it out to trustworthy friends and 'bless' them with such literary art. I want to be that person who gets people hooked on books. (I feel like I have the qualities of a future librarian.)
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

  8. Cassandra Clare is my favourite authors. All of her books take first place in my list of favourites. Her characters are really inspirational, I wish to be more like them.
Just like Cassie, my favourite rune would have to be fearless. It allows you to do many things that fear would usually hold you back from doing.

  10. My favorite thing about Cassandra Clare is how nice she is to us, her fans, shadowhunters. I think, communicating to your readers is very important. And to be honest, I'm so overwhelmed by the emotions I got from her books. I have read a lot of books already and I can say that The Mortal Instruments & The Infernal Devices are one of the best, my favorites. The books are awesome, it's given.. but it also holds the interest of the readers and that's make it even more perfect. I just can't put down her books when I'm reading it. I want to know more about the story, and when I get more, I still want more.. that's exactly what I feel about Cassie's works. Yes, I love Cassie.. but I can't tell you why I love her, I can't express it in words. I just know I love her and my heart beat utters every word.

My favorite rune is the 'Angelic Power Rune' because it's the easiest rune to draw given that I'm not that good on drawing lol

I have a copy of Clockwork Princess already but I still want to win this one just to know what does it feel to win a contest cause I've never experienced it before :(
Anyways, in case I don't win, it's okay.. what important is, I get to express my feelings about Cassie and her works. =)

  11. Everyone seems to be posting a lot of stuff about Cassie. I'm not planning on writing so much. Why?
There aren't enough words on this planet to describe how much I love Cassie. Her work is always fabulous, her sense of humor is always spot on, and I'm 101% proud to be one of many loyal fans.
